Adrift
Adrift is the original Pentire, and the drink that set out to bottle the United Kingdom's Cornish coast. Made by distilling botanicals foraged from the headlands of North Cornwall: rock samphire, sage, citrus, and a touch of Cornish sea salt. It tastes of exactly where it comes from: windswept clifftops, sea air, and wild green herbs. Pentire was founded in 2019 by Alistair Frost, a surfer and former bartender who wanted a sophisticated drink for a life lived outdoors, without the alcohol.
Tasting Notes
Fresh, herbaceous, and clean, with rock samphire and sage leading, crisp and green. Bright citrus lifts it, while a whisper of sea salt adds a subtle, savoury salinity that lingers like ocean spray. Dry and grassy, with real coastal character. A spirit that tastes of the outdoors.
How to serve
The classic Pentire serve is simple: pour 50ml over plenty of ice, top with a light tonic, and garnish with a sprig of rosemary and a twist of lemon. It stands in beautifully for gin or vodka in a long drink, and makes a clean, herbal alcohol-free Tom Collins with lemon, a little honey, and soda. Serve it cold, ideally with sea air nearby.
